Tip of the Day June 5, 2013 and Happy National Running Day!

Hey everyone. It's National Running Day. Happy National Running Day. How are you getting your running it? Are you going to run today?

I ran today and it felt so good! I ran 4 miles today and walked 2.

It's funny that today is National Running Day because today's tip is about getting exercise in.

There are 1440 minutes in one day. Just spend at least 30 minutes doing physical activity. Those 30 minutes is a big step in improving your health. Here are 3 tips that can increase your physical activity throughout the day.

  1. Exercise while watching TV. Do you watch shows such as the Voice or watch the news? It's a perfect time to get exercise in. You can go on the treadmill, do sit-ups, push-ups or any other types of exercises. 
  2. Walk/bike as often and far as possible. Ride your bike to school or work if you are able to. Park your car as far away as you can so that you'll have to walk farther. 
  3. Take a fitness class, such as yoga or dancing. It'd be a fun way to hang out with friends and get in some physical activity. 
As you see, it's quite easy to increase your physical activity throughout the day. Those little steps can help lead to improvement in your health.
