Summer Class: Nutrition and Metabolism

The summer has been going by so quickly!

I am taking a summer class, called Nutrition and Metabolism, my birthday was last week, and my grandparents are visiting from Canada. I've been so busy!

Here is just part of the summer work I've been doing.

I have an exam this week. I've been studying hard for it. In three weeks, we learned 8 chapters! I have about three more weeks of summer class left.

As for my birthday, I went shopping with my cousin, got a foot massage, ate at the Cheesecake Factory, and went dancing for a bit. It was fun.

I so wanted this dress.

Please excuse my face. lol. I liked the dress. It was from Nordstrom but I was just window shopping. I think it's a nice dress though.

I would have taken a picture of the food at the Cheesecake Factory but the lighting was a bit dim. The pictures of the food wouldn't have turned out well. I ordered a Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake for dessert, which I split with my cousin. The cake was delicious!

I guess that is it for now. Hopefully, you guys can learn a bit about nutrition and metabolism from the picture of my notes!

How are you guys doing?

How to Survive College

Some people called me crazy when I said I was taking 19 units the past semester. I have to say that I agree with them. 19 units kept me busy!

So, how in the world did I manage to get through 19 units while I was also interning, volunteering, and training for my half marathon half the time? Yes, that was a run on question. Well, here's how I did it.

  • One of the most helpful things I learned while doing this is to schedule and plan everything as best as you can. Yes, you will have to plan when you wake up, exercise, go to class, study, do homework and all of that. That way, you will get at least things done. Trust me. If you don't do this, you will feel overwhelmed with everything that you won't know where to start. Things do come up unexpectedly but learn to work around it.
  • Be on top of your readings and note taking. For my Social and Cultural Aspects of Food class, my professor does the traditional write down everything on paper method. It's best to read the textbook beforehand. Then, go to class and write down notes. Then, either re-write your notes after class or type them up. I find it useful for me to type up the notes and then add in some things from the textbook. I use Google Drive to type up my notes so that I can look at my notes on my phone while I'm on the go.
  • If you need help, ask for it. Your professor won't know that you're struggling unless you go and talk to them. They'll be more than happy to explain things to you. Yes, that means going to their office hours to get some help. It's better to get help in the beginning before things start to build up and you end up getting even more confused at the end.
  • Study groups are a great thing. Before an exam, go study with your classmates. It does wonders. Your classmate might be able to explain something that you might not be clear on and vice versa. You might make a new friend too. =)
  • Eating right, exercising, and getting enough sleep is really important. That way, you have the energy to get through the day.
What are your tips for getting through college?

Tip of the Week: Organic and GMOs

Hey hey everyone. How is your week going? This week's tip is late in the week. I've been busy all week. Homework, exams, work, being the average busy college student. The only difference is that I'm taking a lot more classes. I'm taking 6 while the average is 4 or 5 classes.  I really enjoy my classes though! I'll talk more about it in another blog post.

Anyway, here's todays tip.

"Organic" and "GMO free" doesn't necessarily mean healthy or better for you. All organic produce contains the same nutrients as the ones in the regular store. For the most part, organic produce does taste better though. If you're worried about pesticides, there are still some pesticides used in some organic produce. Look up GRAS, generally recognized as safe.

Oh, and by the way, if you claim to eat "GMO free", and yet you eat bananas, you aren't eating 100% GMO free. Bananas were genetically modified a long time ago, in the mid 1900s. The banana you eat now is different from the ones your ancestors ate. Before, the bananas used to be harder to eat. They had a huge pit with a lot of seeds. Now, we can just eat the whole thing (except for the peel). It's amazing what science can do.

I guess that's it for now.

What's your opinion on organic/GMOs?
What's your favorite subject at school?

College and Life

I am loving my classes this semester, even though I'm taking a lot of units. My classes are interesting and fun. The cool thing is that in one of my classes, we get to cook. We'll be making salsa on Monday, which I'm happy about. I love salsa. This is kind of off topic but since I'm talking about food here, here's a picture.

I've been using the marinara sauce with whole wheat pasta and adding cheese to it. It's so good!

My favorite class, besides the cooking class (well, it's food preparation), is the Cultural and Social Aspects of Food. Each culture views food differently. What is considered a meal in the culture? How often do they eat? What are their portion sizes? What is their core food (staple) and what are their peripheral foods (things not eaten that often but they still eat)? How do their views affect how they view food? It's a very interesting course and I love it! It's important to understand other cultures. That way, you can make a difference. If your clients don't agree with your views of what they should eat or not eat, they're not going to change. You have to understand where they come from and incorporate change slowly. My professor is amazing and keeps us all engaged in that class. Time flies by so fast!

Also, that professor is a Registered Dietitian and she is the sports nutritionist for the sports teams. Yesterday, me and a few other nutrition students were able to help out at a sports nutrition workshop she was holding for the cross-country team (there will be more workshops for other sports teams). It was fun, meeting other nutrition students. I also learned a lot about sports nutrition. Hydration is important. The carb/protein ratio for pre-workout is 4:1. And guess what. The post-workout is 3:1. You would think it'd be 2:1 but no, it's not. It is 3:1 for post workout.

Pre-workout is the only time that is best to eat refined grains (unless your body is already used to eating whole grains) because of the fiber content. It tends to absorb more water.

Anyway, I'm getting off-topic. I had fun volunteering and we got to eat pasta primavera! It was delicious! I have the recipe, which I may post later on. You'll be hooked once you try it!

On Thursday, it was bootcamp. Class that day was tough. We worked with barbells. It's been a while since I lifted weights (June), so imagine how weak I've gotten since then. It was a pretty intense class but I loved it. I'm still feeling it right now. Also on Thursday, I had to present  current event in my government class. Guess what topic I chose. I chose Obamacare. We had to summarize the article, analyze it and give our own opinion on it. My professor loved my presentation. =)

I guess that's it for now.

How was your week?
What do you eat pre/post workout?

Bootcamp and Classes

This past week has been quite busy for me! I have to say, it was pretty eventful. Classes, tarea, bootcamp, crashing classes, and many other things. I think you get what I mean.

I was able to get into 3 classes that I was wait listed for. I'm so happy! As you know, some departments or professors allow only a certain amount of people into their classes for whatever reason it may be. I was able to get into Chemistry, Government, and Food Safety and Sanitation. I was already enrolled in 3 other classes, so, that means I have a lot of studying to do. But, hey. It's something that has to be done! I think I'll enjoy my classes this semester.

It took a while to get into Chemistry and Government. The professor wouldn't add anyone into Chemistry the first day. I had to wait. The next class meeting, I attended the class. Even then, he told the wait listed people to leave since it was no point. I stayed and talked to the professor. He let me in! With government, the professor said that there would be a very slim chance that she would add other students. I did the homework and she let me in the next class meeting. If you really want to get into the class, persevere and show that you really want to be in the class. It may pay off at the end!

Also this week, I did bootcamp for the first time! I attended two classes this week of bootcamp. I have to say, it was pretty fun. Meagan, the instructor, is awesome. She really keeps us motivated and is very energetic. It was so weird working out in a class environment (since it's been a while since I did a group workout) but it was really fun. Maybe adding this bootcamp can help with my half-marathon training. It's also important to strength train too! My legs were sore after the first class, which says something. =)

What other classes do you recommend I should try out?

Vlog on my first year (finally!)

Hey everyone! I finally made a vlog about my first year of college. I'm so sorry about the long delay. I used my phone to record it because my webcam wasn't working that well. Sorry for the quality!
Also, I didn't go into too much detail in my vlog because I like to keep the privacy of my friends and that stuff.

I can say that I made great new friends and I had a great time. I had a first interesting year.

Oh. And here's a quick picture I took, while I'm not smiling. It's not the best picture, but oh well. I was hula hooping while taking it. I know. I'm awesome like that. I hula hoop while reading a book or watching tv or movies. I can't just sit there reading or watching movies. I feel lazy if I don't do something active while doing those things. I hula hoop for like an hour!

If you've already gone through college, what did you learn from your first year?
If you're going to go into college, what questions do you have?

Updates on my Life

Hey hey everyone. How's your life going? I know my life has been quite busy.

Just this past week, I had two exams! So much studying...One exam was for my US History class (for my GE requirement) and the other one was for my Methods of Psychology class (for my minor).

For history, I had to write two essays and respond to 5 terms (one paragraph each), all in one class period (1 hr and 15 minutes). We weren't allowed any notes. I got hand cramps (not good). It's a good thing I studied a lot before the exam. We were given the prompts ahead of time so that we could prepare. But, no notes.

For my psychology exam, it wasn't that bad. It was all multiple choice and we just had to apply the concepts we learned.

Now, I'm not sure if I told you guys this before, but I started lifting weights when school started. That was January 28th or so. I want to gain muscle and be stronger. I've been lifting hand weights and I have to say, I am getting stronger. I went from lifting 7.5 lb dumbbells to 12.5 dumbbells. I know that for some of you guys, 12.5 lbs is nothing, but for me, it's an accomplishment! I also leg press 160 lbs, though I started with 120. I'm so happy that I'm getting stronger. I hope it's worth it.

I also indulged a bit this week. At my school's bookstore, there is a cafe where they sell coffee and organic baked goods. I bought an organic blueberry scone. Here's how it looks:

I ate it with a cup of coffee. I know, it doesn't like that appetizing but trust me, it was delicious! There's an icing that contributed to the flavor and texture of the scone and I loved it. It wasn't too sweet but you could definitely tell butter was used (but not too much!).

I also had my 3 hour long night class yesterday and I got hungry. So, during the break, I went with a friend to Gorditos Burritos and ordered a shrimp burrito. It came with black beans, rice, lettuce, chiptole cream sauce, chips and salsa. It was alright. The description of the burrito they gave sounded better than how it actually tasted. It was decent though. I ordered the rice on the side since I didn't want it in the burrito. I ate the chips by itself during class, without the salsa. Maybe I should have ordered the burrito as a burrito bowl, without the tortilla. Oh well. It still tasted pretty good!

As you see, it's okay to indulge once in a while. Remember, everything in moderation.

I also bought trail mix at school to snack on since I'd be at school for 12 hours.

It's Planter's Sweet & Nutty Trail Mix and I really liked it. The nuts were crisp and fresh. I also loved the chocolate covered dried fruit!

I also finally ate my Apple Turnover Uber Bar (by LaraBar).

I have to say, I was disappointed with this bar. I love apple turnovers and apple pies but I just didn't like this. The texture was weird and there was barely any flavor with it.

Another update is that yesterday, I finally got my Polar FT40 Women's Heart Rate Monitor Watch. I'm wearing it right now to see how many calories I burn in a day without exercise. I'm taking today a rest day (a much needed one) to calculate how many calories I burn without exercise. Here's how it looks:

Also, today, I went grocery shopping and spent a total of $16.17. Whenever I go shopping, I always buy stuff mainly for myself. My parents do their own grocery shopping and I buy things that they won't buy (since I love buying "expensive" health food).

  • The Agave was $2.95
  • The Organic Chocolate Koala Crisp was $2.28
  • All the bars (LaraBar Peanut Butter Cookie, Chocolate Almond Fudge Clif Bar and the ProMax lower sugar Peanut Butter Chocolate) were 98 cents each ($0.98)
  • The Blue Diamond Habanero BBQ almonds was 78 cents ($0.78)
  • The Garbanzo Beans and Lower Sodium Black Beans were 68 cents each ($0.68)
  • The Amy's Organic Lentil Vegetable Soup was $2.53 (a bit pricey, but it's okay)
  • The Diet Shasta Cola was 35 cents ($0.35)
  • And, the Chocolate Cream cookies were $2.30 (they're for my siblings, not me, even though I might eat some with almond milk)
This buy was actually unplanned but I have to say, most of it is healthy (a few indulgences, which is okay). What I normally buy is Kashi cereal but I noticed that the Chocolate Koala Crisps were on sale, so I bought that instead. I also always buy Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, which I eat with cereal. I sometimes buy greek yogurt but not all the time. Quinoa and Costco's Multigrain Rounds are a staple too. My parents always buy the fruits, vegetables and protein.

My life has been quite busy and sometimes fun. I'm really enjoying this semester. I'm meeting great people this semester and I'm really enjoying my classes

Another thing is that I signed up for Lindsay's Foodie Penpals. I'm so excited. Here's the link to Lindsay's Foodie Penpal page. She created the program and you can sign up for it on her blog. It's a great way to try new foods from different parts of the country. Go to Lindsay's blog for more information.

So, how's life?
Do you have anything planned for the weekend?
I plan on going out this weekend. The weather's going to be great here. Going to the park, shopping, it's going to be spontaneous.

2nd Week Back and Recent Eats

Who said college was easy?

image from: http://www.pamsclipart.com/clipart_images/a_stack_of_school_text_books_0515-0908-1721-0833.html
It's not. You have to study. You have to read, do homework, make charts, do projects, keep in touch with friends and make time for yourself. If you have a job, it adds even more stress!

You see, it's not easy.

That's how it has been for me. There is so much reading that I have to do, and there's no teacher nagging you to do it. You're independent and on your own when it comes to homework and studying.

Don't slack off and be lazy. You go through the material twice as fast in college. Do your "assigned" readings and homework. Study for tests. Take good notes. That's what I'm doing and it does help!

As for friends, it can be easier or harder to make friends. If you live in a dorm, you make friends with people within. If you live at home, you have to depend on the classroom. And, you know what? People don't usually stay and hang out after class or talk much to others. They mainly mind their own business. Its up to YOU to start the conversation and make acquaintances or friends. It's also up to YOU to keep in touch with them.

Do you know why I am saying this? I started talking to my classmates more this semester and I'm starting to make new friends. It's a great feeling, different from last semester. I was so shy last semester, but I know I have to break out of the shell.

As for making time for yourself, it can be hard once you are bombarded with homework, studying and "hanging out with friends." It may be hard to find time to get a good workout in or do some things you like such as baking, playing an instrument , keeping up a blog, or what not. It's all about balance. I'm still trying to figure it all out. I admit that I am getting better at it though. One thing that can help is making a schedule!

Now that I have said all of that, here are some recent eats:

I went to PitaPit con mi primo the past week and I got the Spicy Black Bean with a whole wheat pita. I asked for spinach, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, bbq sauce, and craisins. It was delicious!

Then on Thursday, I got the Berry Fulfilling from Jamba Juice. Yummy!

I just had to show you guys a picture of the Belgian Chocolate. It has a cello on it. It also tastes pretty good!

On Friday, I went back to that local coffee shop and ordered the Mexican Mocha with soy milk. It was awesome! It tastes better than the Mayan Mocha I had from EcoGrounds (which was still good though!).
The bread is a Chocolate AnPan Man from a local  Japanese Bakery.

We went to Hometown Buffet for brunch on Saturday and I finally ate a cinnamon roll. It was so good! I also ate some carrot cake, which I haven't really tried before. I love carrot cake now! Also, they had an omelette station where you can order an omelette. It was pretty good.

What's cool is that I received this from my parents. It was my grandmothers:

It's a rice cooker with a steamer attachment. I get to cook quinoa and steam veggies and meat at the same time! Look at the pictures below. I steamed quinoa on the bottom, with shrimp. cauliflower and green beans in the steamer portion. It's super healthy. Maybe I can steam fish next time. Also, I made a sauce with sriracha and soy sauce. It's so good! I'm so happy I have this. I get to make my own easy, healthy and fast meals!

I guess that's it for now! My weekend has been busy with Chinese New Year stuff. I love eating the vegetarian dish (Buddha's Delight or Jai)  my mom makes every year for Chinese New Year. It's delicious!

How was your weekend?
Are you a meat lover or a vegetable lover (or both?)?

Week Recap

This week has been a really busy week. Do you know why? It's because school started back up. With so many classes, I have to get back into the school mood. Good thing I get to buy the 50 cent coffee from the school bookstore again.

This semester, so far, feels so different from last semester. The people seem to be nicer and I'm talking to my classmates more. Well, maybe it's because the classes I chose last semester were more online based but I'm having more fun so far. Another thing is that, I plan on double minoring (in psychology and biology) along with a degree in Dietetics. It's going to be a lot of classes but I know I can do it. It just may take longer (and taking summer classes) but I'm determined.

Anyway, this week has been pretty much like every other first day of school. The professor's just introduced the course and went over the syllabus. Of course, by the 2nd class, they started teaching. I've already had to go through my textbooks a few times (or more..). Also, I successfully got into 2 courses that I was waitlisted in. I'm so happy.

I treated myself to a nonfat blueberry cheesecake froyo from RiteAid. It was after class and I was craving froyo for some reason. It was so good! Creamy, blueberry flavored, sweet. I loved it. It tasted like regular ice cream but "healthier".

Also this week, I've been going to the gym to work on gaining muscle! I'm starting to lift weights now and I hope to see some sort of change in my body. A good change. We'll see how that goes. I realized that I'm pretty weak, even though it looks and feels like I have a lot of upper back muscle (the traps and the shoulders).

Here's something delicious I drank yesterday. I stopped by a local coffee shop before going to work and I ordered a mocha (with soy milk!)

It was so good! I'm going to stop by there more often now. =)  By the way, the 2 means 2 shots of expresso.

That's pretty much my week except that I have some food reviews.

The Kor's Sweet 'N Salty Mix was alright. I tasted like any other trail mix. The nuts surprisingly tasted fresh. The raisins were a bit dry though.

RiseBar Crunchy Cashew Almond was a bit too sweet. The texture was fine though. I loved that there were whole almonds that were still crunchy and tasted good. They were very generous with the nuts. It was good except for the overly sweet part .

The Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk is yummy! It's creamy and it's not too sweet or anything. Of course it's not oversweet because it's unsweetened It goes perfectly with cereal and smoothies.
Nature Valley Almond Crunch was alright. It's basically just nuts pasted together with a liquid sweetener. It was pretty good though. It was crunchy too. If you like nuts, you'll like this.

ProMax Nutty Butter Crisp Bar was yummy! I liked its size and that it's chewy and delicious. It really tasted like a chewy butter finger (without the cookie part).

Planter's Nut and Chocolate Trail Mix was pretty good. The peanuts seemed pretty fresh and crunchy. The raisins were big and still had some sort of moisture with it (as in, it wasn't dry). It was pretty good.

Special K Blueberry Pastry Crisps. My cousin gave me these to try. Personally, it's something that I wouldn't buy. It tastes alright. I don't like the cookie part and the inside tastes like a poptart filling.

I love the Blue Diamond Jalapeño Smokehouse Almonds. They don't taste that spicy at first but then, the flavor gets to you. I love these (for a savory flavored snack).

I have two powerbar reviews. The Chocolate Peanut Butter PowerBar and the Vanilla Crisp PowerBar.

Surprisingly enough, I liked the Vanilla Crisp PowerBar better. The bars were chewy and bendable. They were pretty sweet. I definitely tasted the vanilla flavor in the Vanilla Crisp, though it tasted artificial. I didn't really taste the chocolate in the Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor.

The last review is: Crunchy Perfect Pumpkin Rise Bar.

I like how they had a lot of pumpkin seeds spread throughout the bar. I liked the bits of craisins they added to it too. Other than that, this bar is nothing special.

Well, I guess that's the end of this post. I'll keep you guys updated!

What's your workout routine?
Do you like school?

2nd Day!

Wow. I have to say. College is different that I had expected it to be. All of my classes require online access because that's how most of my teachers will be grading things. I even have an online Psychology class.
My public speaking class is a bit different too, since it only meets once a week for 50 minutes. It means that I have to watch  tons of online lectures on their website on my own free time. I also have to have a speech ready. It's a how to speech. I have to start brain storming.

For breakfast today, I ate Van's Lite Waffles with some vanilla greek yogurt. I only used about 2 tablespoons. I'm saving some for tomorrow.  It was delicious. :) Then, I had like a 45 min car ride to uni since there was tons of traffic. -_-

So, I only had one class today. It was my philosophy class. This was weird too, since my professor is in another classroom and we just watch it on TV, basically. There is a TA in the classroom though. There's a lot of thinking going on in philosophy. A lot of unanswered questions.

I ate an apple and hummus+bread for lunch today.  I had to buy the apple from the cafe and it was expensive. I mean, a dollar for an apple? But, it was a good apple (or am I just trying to make myself feel better by saying that?).

I also went to the school gym again today. I did what I did yesterday. I also went with my friend. I ran on the indoor track again. There was this one guy that kept running like I did. It was pretty cool. We went opposite directions but we kept passing each other. We gave each other a nod though. And, guess what else. There was this one person walking on the track, texting the entire time. What's the point of going to the gym if you just walk and text? Oh well. It's just one of my pet peeves. There were actual runners on the track today too, which was pretty cool.

Me and my friend went on the elliptical. I also showed her some exercises to do with hand weights. I admit, I am a blogilates fan and I used some of her hand weight exercises to demonstrate some things my friend could do. Thanks Cassey for posting your workouts on blogilates. :)

So...4 miles on the track, 3.5 miles on the elliptical..and then I went again with my friend and it was 3 and half miles again. That's a lot of miles in one day. >_<

They gym also has rock climbing. It has a rock climbing wall. I really want to climb it, but I'll see if I have the guts tomorrow. It looks like it's really up high. I'll post tomorrow whether I actually climbed it or not.

After coming home, I ate some organic apple cinnamon cereal, banana with peanut butter and a greek yogurt bar. Then, I did homework and ate dinner, which was my sushi salad and some veggies and more tofu. Then, I ate a whole wheat muffin and a banana bread lara bar. The banana bread larabar was disgusting. They used unripe bananas. I hate unripe bananas. From now on, I'm sticking to their chocolate flavors.

I know. I ate a lot today. -_- but, hey. It's under 2000 calories (like, 1700ish?)  and all together with the other exercise I did today (besides the gym), I burned about 1300 calories. That's a lot, I know. But, it didn't take up all of my day though. I just had a lot of time to spare.  I might have a low net calorie now..but..I dunno.

Anyway, that was my day.  But now, I have to do a lot of independent work due to the nature of most of my classes using the net (internet).

Have you guys ever gone rock climbing (or mountain climbing)?

Do you guys prefer online classes or regular classes?

First Day!

My snacks and food I brought!
Hey Everyone! I can't believe I made it through my first day of college!

Anyway, it started off with me meeting up with my friend. Then, I got some Jamba Juice for breakfast. Of course, I got the usual. Berry Fulfilling with soy protein. I ordered a 16 oz drink. But, they accidentally made too much, so I got the original! I was so happy. Well, that means more calories, but I got more for the buck, if you get what I mean.

Mi amiga y yo walked around campus until my first class, a public speaking class. It's around 20 students, which is pretty small for a university class. The professor is really cool though. But, I'm not good at public speaking. I know I'm going to have a hard time with it. >_< I have to make 3 speeches! I know..I sang at my school's 5 de mayo assembly. But, that's different from making speeches!

Anyway after that, I started working on my online psychology class. It's actually easier than my AP Psychology class I took in high school. Oh, I don't know why I have to take it when I already took a harder class in high school. That's life.

For snack/lunch, I ate some hummus with multi-grain sandwich thins. It was delicious! I also bought Sobe Lifewater Strawberry Kiwi. It tasted good, but let's just say, it's better to drink this at home then at public. Oh. Stomach issues.

After eating, I walked around with my friend and then I went to my math class (my friend doesn't have any classes with me. I'm so sad.). My math teacher is Asian, of course. He's Chinese. We didn't do much except go over the syllabus. That's pretty much how most classes were. Most classes just go over the syllabus. Anyway, we were released 45 minutes early. But, I noticed that college classes are so much different from high school ones. It'll take time to adjust.

So, I went to do some homework and then I went to the University's gym. I had a great workout too. Well, it was a cardio workout. I also wore my new workout clothes. ;) Yoga shorts, workout tank, sports bra..you get what I mean. lol.

My workout consisted of  running around the indoor track and the elliptical. I felt so comfortable being at the gym. I was in my "zone" you can say. I forgot the saying. But, you guys should get what I mean. I ran 4 miles around the track. I averaged an 8 min 10 sec mile. I kept up the same speed and I passed a ton of people who were either walking or jogging pretty slowly. I was basically the fastest one there. I even heard a guy saying "Dang. That girl's fast and keeps going." Haha. But, 8 min is not that good of a mile time though. There were some guys and this one girl that I tried to get ahead of. It was fun trying to catch up and getting ahead of them. I did. I sprinted my last lap and I passed everyone using the track. There were these two guys that I passed (they were really ahead of me at first) and they tried to pass me up after I passed them even though I was at least half a track behind them before, but I was sprinting. But then, my lap ended and I slowed down. They even said "she's slowing down now." Hey. I've been running for like, half an hour. Give me a break. It was fun though.

Then, elliptical time. I watched TV and listened to music while on the elliptical. I watched Reba, my most favorite show. I hadn't watched it in 4 years after I moved. I was so happy to watch it again, doing my favorite thing, working out. I did the elliptical for about 35 minutes.

After that, showered, changed and then I went to the cafe next to the gym. I got chocolate/vanilla froyo with pb chips, choco chips, yogurt chips and a bit of coconut and some strawberry slices. It was delish! I should have bought the nutella sandwich. I love nutella and I haven't eaten it for months..Maybe I'll buy it tomorrow. Then, I ate my Cool Mint Chocolate Clif Bar. The Clif Bar was alright. I could really taste the mint. There was chocolate too. But, it's not one of my favorite flavors. It was pretty tasteless (well, it was sweet, but you get what I mean). It had the regular Clif Bar texture.  I just wanted to try it. It was a good postwork snack/meal.

Then, off I went to my 3 hour  nutrition class. I really enjoyed the class though. The professor knows his stuff and is a good instructor. I was really interested and everything, and I didn't feel like falling asleep at all even though it's 3 hours. We actually started talking about nutrition. We talked about the overview of nutrition, carbs, fats and that stuff. I enjoyed it.

Finally, I got home and I ate dinner and some apples. Brown rice sushi salad, chicken, egg plant and broccoli. Then, I ate an apple. I was so hungry! lol. I got home really late.

Anyway, that was my day. I didn't make any new friends, but I did meet some new people.

So, do you guys remember your first day of college (or school or anything you did for the first time)?
What's your favorite snack to eat?
Do you guys have any healthy food tips while at uni (especially snacking and the food court?)
