Quick Food Eats Update

Hey hey everyone. I just wanted to post some pictures of what I ate last week. Of course, there are other things I ate like oatmeal, brown rice, chicken and all of that. These are just some other things that I don't eat as often.

This burrito is from Fluid, that coffee shop I've been talking about. I go there once a week.  They have the best coffee and baked goods. Their cookies are amazing, especially their oatmeal one and their whole wheat chocolate chip cookie one. They have organic fair trade coffee too and it's amazing! It's Red bell peppers- roasted with garlic & pesto, spinach, eggs, and dill Havarti cheese. It sounds delicious, right? It was! The picture is only half of the burrito. This was on Friday that I bought this. I'm so glad I did.

On Thursday, I bought a turkey whole wheat pita. I know that packaged foods aren't the best but I forgot my lunch. So, this was the healthiest thing I can find. I somehow remembered to bring my green tea drink though. I bought it at the asian store. I've been trying to find the green tea drink that I drank a lot of at China. It's so hard to find it. I haven't found it yet, actually. I thought that this would be the closest but it was so plain and bland!

I also tried this Light & Fit Blueberry Greek Yogurt. I say it tastes fine but my aunts didn't like it.

I bought these two things at 99 Ranch. It's the Hazelnut Duo Nusco and a green tea drink. This green tea drink is the closest that I had in China. The Hazelnut spread is so good! It's like nutella with milk cream. I bought it because it looked interesting. My family loves it.

Anyway, I kind of forgot what I did last week. I worked on my psychology project, I had a psychology presentation and that's about it.

During the weekend, I watched the movie 42. It was so good! It was very educational and funny at the same time. It really tells how the culture was like back then. I also went shopping for a bit after.

On Sunday, yesterday, I spent the whole day at the school library studying. It was more like 6 hours. Hey, it's finals week. The library was packed and so was the 24 hour study building. That building has 4 floors! There was that many people studying during the weekend. I was lucky enough to get a group study room (I rushed in right when the library opened). I was brain dead after studying. It's a good thing my cousin brought snacks.

Today was my history final. I think I prepared pretty well for it. I did the best I could. I also baked this chocolate protein cake. It still needs a bit of tweaking but I'll post it anyway. The taste is good but the texture is a bit off.

So, how are you guys?
Do you like studying for 6 hours straight? Would you be able to?
What's your favorite snack?

My Weekend

Hey hey everyone! How are you guys doing today?

I'm doing pretty good, thank you very much. My weekend has been quite busy. Let's get down to business.

Yesterday, I went to the mall. I needed to buy khaki or white pants since I start volunteering at the hospital tomorrow. I'm so excited and so nervous at the same time! I eventually did find one at Sears! It was $19.98. It was one of the cheapest I found at the mall and it looked the best on me.

We spent 6 hours at the mall, going through stores and walking back and forth. It was quite a workout. I got a Vanilla Spice Latte from Starbucks, the skinny slice pizza from Sbarro and some ice cream from Coldstone Creamery. I ordered a dark chocolate and coffee combo with M&M's from Coldstone. It was so good! I'm glad I indulged. It was actually my first time eating ice cream from that place. Here's the pics.

The skinny slice was actually pretty good, especially for 270 calories! I loved how generous they were with the veggies and the crust was pretty decent.

Today, I showed my parents around campus. It was a nice day today. I bought them an Iced White Chocolate Mocha from EcoGrounds. My parents (especially my mom) loved it. I bought myself the Mayan Mocha with soymilk.

I also bought this Chocolate Heart Thrive Bar. I'm going to eat this sometime but I don't know when. It's vegan and it has simple, healthy ingredients. It's only 3 WW points, if any of you guys are doing Weight Watchers. These are so cute since they're heart shaped!

I also got my hair trimmed since it's been a while since I got it cut. The last time was actually in China. That was in July. I know, it's been too long.

We also went to Target. Here's a few of the things I got.

I got some Egg Beater's egg whites. I don't like the yolk of eggs, so egg whites are much easier for me to use. As for the Natural Jif, it was much cheaper than the Natural Skippy brand. I looked at the nutrition and this Natural Jiff is a bit better for you anyway. I guess Skippy costs a lot more since it's more of a brand name. Brand name things aren't always the best either. Also, I got Dark Chocolate Peanut M&M's. I needed a "healthier" fix for my sweet chocolate cravings. I hope I can control the servings. Wish me luck on that!

As for the No.7 Total Renewal, I hope it'll have an effect on my skin. A good one, at that. It's a brand from Britian and I've heard good things about it.

And, do you remember my Heart Rate Monitor Watch? I figured out that I burn about 1837 calories without doing exercise. Here's proof.

For jogging 17 minutes , I burn about 147 calories. That's not that much but I guess it's due to my size. Then again, I was just jogging, not doing my regular running.

I'm also surprised that I don't burn that much when I do Blogilates HIIT workouts. For one 10 minute video, I only burn about 50 calories.

Well, I guess that's it for now. My next post is going to be an Asian style black bean patty. Be on the lookout!

So, how was your weekend?
Have you tried using Heart Rate monitor watches before?

Fun Fun Weekend

Hola everybody! How was your guy's weekend? Did you guys do anything interesting?
Well, I had so much fun. I actually did things instead of just stay home most of the time. So, what did Helen do this weekend? She went out to eat with her friends yesterday and she went shopping shopping today.

Lol. Yes. I had so much fun, the most I've done since coming back from my trip to China (well, except for going to a swimming party). Funny thing is that, I went out to eat with the friends I made during my China trip. Do you guys remember me mentioning that we somehow came from around the same area?
So, yesterday was when we went out to eat. We went to Hometown Buffet! I know, we are fatties. But, hey, we had so much fun. We ate tons of food too. We practically stayed there for 2 and half hours. And, yes, we did pig out. Hey. We hadn't eaten much that day. We were hungry. And, after all, we paid to eat a a buffet. We might as well have pigged out. My friend, Tina, saw someone she knew there. Well, she met him before, but she forgot his name. It was so funny because after he left, she was still trying to figure out what his name was. She finally did figure it out though.

So, I had 2 main plates, a fruit plate, and dessert. My main plates weren't big though. I had vegetables, beans, shrimp and fish for both of my main plates. My dessert plate included cantaloupe, apples, peach, jello and a dinner roll. I had orange sherbet, nonfat vanilla yogurt, cookies'n'cream ice cream, and cheesecake for dessert. I didn't finish all of the cheesecake though. But the ice cream/froyo was delicious! I added M&M's, chocolate chips and sprinkles. So yummy. And, I know. I ate so much! But, I counted the calories I ate the entire day, including the meal, and it still didn't even go over 2000 calories! It's more like 1600.

So, I also tried their white chocolate cappacino and the horchata. The cappacino was a bit sweet, but it was delicious. I also really enjoyed the horchata. It was creamy, sweet and had a hint of cinnamon. However, I did have better before. They also had other types of horchata, including a fruit type. Man. Hometown Buffet has changed a lot since I last went. It's been such a long time!

My friends, though, ate more than me at the buffet, but they are still thin. They are the typical skinny Asians. Well, near the end, we wanted to take a picture but we were scared to ask someone to take it for us. There was a huge Asian family next to us and my friend finally got the courage to ask one of them to take a picture. After that, my friend somehow spilled her drink. What a nice way to end the meal. lol. We went to Target after that and walked around. That was my day yesterday.  Oh yea. I also received my free Luna Fiber Bar in the mail. They decided to send me the chocolate raspberry. I'll post a review of it once I get the chance to try it. w

So, today, I went shopping basically the entire day with another friend! It was so much fun and I bought a ton of things. I bought 2 Hello Kitty shirts! They're so cute. I also bought yoga shorts. And, guess what. They were on sale! I got them for $4.99. I couldn't believe that it was that cheap! I just had to get it. I bought some other things too, but, I don't have to tell you guys everything. All I'll say is that we went to Macy's, Forever 21, Aeropostale, Victoria's Secret and a few other stores. My friend only bought one shirt though.

It was really hot today, around 105 degrees. So, not many people went out to shop. When it was lunch time, there were some places that didn't have much people going to it, including  an Asian food place. No one was there and I felt sorry for the people that worked there. They looked so bored. I originally planned to go to the Mediterranean place, but I decided to go to the Asian place because I felt sorry for them. I ended getting the teriyaki shrimp with brown rice and vegetables. It was actually pretty good. The people working there spoke Mandarin though. We also got some Jamba Juice after. Of course, I got the Berry Fulfilling, original size this time.

So, I'm pretty satisfied with my weekend. I had a pretty good time.

How was your guy's weekend?
Did you do anything interesting?

My weekend and delicious Veggie Dogs

Hello you guys! I can't believe it. I'm going to be graduating! I'm so pumped for graduation. My grandparents are visiting to come watch. I'm so happy they took the trip to watch my graduation ceremony.
The past couple of days were quite fun.  I made 蒸鸡蛋糕 for my grandparents to eat. They loved it. :) I also love hearing their words of wisdom.
Well, yesterday, even though I have no more school, all the seniors had to go back to school just to pick up the cap and gown for graduation. I don't know how long the gown is suppose to be, but, it goes a little bit past my knees. I wonder if it's suppose to be longer or not. Anyway, someone gave me this delicious chocolate bar as an early birthday present.

Lindt's Dark Roasted Almond chocolate bar. This person knows me so well. :) I mean..almonds and dark chocolate? Most people would like regular milk chocolate or peanuts or carmel. This chocolate is also more on the expensive side, but they bought it anyway. Thank you so much. You're the best. The chocolate is delicious. :)

Anyway, after picking up my graduation stuff, me, my cousin and her guy friend went to a nearby Chinese restaurant. They ordered the salted fish and chicken fried rice. But, since I already made my own lunch (my hummus rotini), I ordered a red bean ice dessert. It was delicious.

The red bean is on the bottom of the cup. They even drizzled some caramel on top too. It seriously was one of the best red bean frozen desserts I've eaten. I also love red bean ice cream, red bean popsicle, all that stuff, but seriously. It was amazing.

Anyway, let's talk about today. There was no school, for one thing. I also bought some Veggie Dogs.

I ate them with whole wheat bread. The veggie dogs are only 50 calories each and each slice of bread is 75 calories. For one hotdog, I ate it with hummus. It was delicious. On the other one, I ate it with ketchup, mustard and relish. Also yummy too. :)
For snacks, I had this:
My dark chocolate and dried blueberries. I'm addicted to dried blueberries. They are my favorite. I also had some apples and chocolate covered pretzels too.

I'm pretty happy that I've stayed a vegetarian for a couple weeks now. My friends doubted I could do it, but I can. It's easy, actually.

Anyway, what's your guy's favorite food?
Do you like chocolate, red bean or both? (I know I LOVE chocolate AND red bean)

My weekend and a cake

Hello everyone! How are you guys today? It's Memorial Day. Appreciate the bravery and strength veterans had to protect and fight for our country.
Now, how was your guy's weekend? I know that since it's Memorial Day,  people probably had  BBQs, with burgers (ahem. veggie burgers), salad, pies and all that good stuff. Lol. Macaroni salad, potato salad, all that stuff. Well, instead, I'm making this chinese sponge cake. It's cooking right now as I type this. I'll post the recipe later, when I know if the cake turns out or not.
Anyway, my weekend was really fun. I went to San Fran, and of course since I went to San Fran, I went to Chinatown. There were a lot more tourists from when the last time I went. Maybe it's because school is letting out. Anyway, there was this one street where a huge group of tourists wanted to take a picture of. They were all standing on the street and this one lady fell off the sidewalk while trying to take the picture.
There were so many people taking pictures of Chinatown. However, some people were impolite. There was a lady that took a picture of old Chinese women buying some dried fish from one of the stores. As you know, Asians have a way of checking if the food is good or not.  I'm assuming they thought it would be something good to take a picture of. Strange.  Anyway, after my mom bought some stuff she wanted, we went to a chinese bakery, one of my favorite ones.
There pineapple buns (bolo bao) are amazing. They have no filling though. Their red bean buns are delicious as well. I like them better than the bolo bao. But, if they were to to put red bean paste in their bolo, that would be the best bread ever.
I'm sad though, since the last time I went, they had these hello kitty cookies:
But, they didn't have them this time I went. I was hoping to buy some, but oh well. It was too late. The day I went to San Fran, GEM Tang was suppose to be performing, but I didn't know until I saw posters in Chinatown. I was sad since I didn't get any tickets.

Anyway, I also filmed my Spanish movie with my group. We had so much fun filming it. However, it took 4 hours to film like a 3 to 5 minute movie. Hopefully, we end up getting a good grade, or at least a decent one. Hey. At least I'm graduating soon. I only have 4 more days of high school left and then I'm free. I'm so happy and excited. The senior's last day of school is June 1st while the rest gets out on June 13th.
Anyway, back to the Spanish project. I talked the most, because of the character I was. So, you guys can judge my Spanish. I will post the video when it's done editing. I'll also talk about it more in another post because the filming process was so hilarious and funny. Let's just say a car alarm went off during filming.
Anyway, that's the end of my post. The next ones will be about my Chinese sponge cake and my Spanish movie.

So, how was your guy's weekend?
Did you do anything fun?
